Conveniently located on Jensen Beach, this fabulous center boasts 57 acres of fun including interactive learning about Florida’s aquatic wildlife. This is a great must-do if staying at a nearby Stuart inn. Aquariums are clean here with the possibility of touching many marine animals. Visitors enjoy viewing the mangrove swamps while taking the nature trails (guided tours available), as well as the displays in the pavilion. The center also offers an interpretive boardwalk. Price to visit the center is $8 for adults, and $4 for children 3 to 12 years of age.
Sunshine Wildlife Tours

Vacationers will enjoy their time on the pontoon boats as they tour down the Indian River Lagoon. This attraction is a great choice for things to do in Stuart. Bird Island is part of the tours. Both half-day and full-day tours are available with more than 4,000 species of wildlife and plants to see. Both dolphins and manatee are usually seen with several of the selected tours, with the dolphins frequently jumping up near the boat. Tours are usually about $25 for adults and $18 for children.

This natural reef formation is about 1 mile in length. This place is a must-do from a nearby Stuart bed and breakfast. The Bathtub Reef is a fantastic place for both swimming and snorkeling, as the water is so calm and crystal-clear. Colorful fish and marine vegetation is fun to see, as well as combing the beach for sea shells. No washrooms here, but only 100 yards away at Rocks Beach, these are available. Visitors should not step on the reef itself as it could damage the reef or injure the feet from the rocks.

The wonderful Elliott Museum offers permanent exhibits such as the car collection, Seminole Indian and Ais Indian collections, as well artifacts, newspaper clippings and photos. Admission fee is about $6 per person, and is one of many interesting things to do in Stuart.

About 45 minutes away from Stuart is West Palm Beach, and the Rapids Water Park. This 25-acre water park boasts 29 water slides and a lovely lazy river. Big tube funnels, twisting slides and spinning water rides offer fun for everyone. A 25,000 square foot wave pool with possible waves of 6 feet make it a thrill. Price is about $32.95 plus tax during the weekdays from Monday to Friday, and $35.95 plus tax on the weekends. Special group rates are available. Admission is free for children 2 years of age and under. Parking is $10, preferred parking is available for $20.
